About
Hello and welcome to Nourished Meadow!!
My name is Erin, and I have a problem. I have found a path that has helped me turn my life around, and now I have to share it with others. I must help folks live the fullest life they can, there is no other alternative for me. I have not necessarily figure out how I will go about it, but Nourished Meadow is my starting point.
I follow essentially a Paleo lifestyle, from diet to movement I try and embrace a more natural balanced way of life. Rather then ramble on about what I believe, here are some articles others have posted where I strongly agree with most everything and are worded far better then I could do:
Pay Now Live Later – Paleo in a Nutshell Video series
Archevore – Paleo 2.0
Free the Animal – Is there an optimal diet?
Marks Daily Apple – Primal Lifestyle 101
If you are a book sort of person, here are the three I would start with (these are not paid links)
Primal Blueprint
The Paleo Solution
Good Calories, Bad Calories
For a bit of history, here is how I ended up down this path.
I spent a number of years stuck in the revolving door of the medical community and all the prescriptions that go with it. I was labeled with a number of problems such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, interstitial cystitis, chronic depression, unidentified rashes, and countless food intolerances.
I finally hit my rock bottom, tossed everything out the window, and started the climb out of the hole I was in. I gradually transitioned to a natural lifestyle, learning to cook from scratch and remove all processed items. Eventually I threw out gluten and felt far better. Along the way I also learned that too many carbs, especially grains and sugar, were a trigger as well. Fast forward 6 or 7 years and I am now living a paleo lifestyle and feel like a completely new person.
I have not taken a prescription in over 6 years, I am no longer in debilitating pain, I am truly living rather then just surviving. Finding a more balanced life, especially in regards to food has brought me here. I feel awakened, alive, and I hope to help others realize this as well.
Growth to me never ceases, so I will continue to explore, evolve, and share. I really enjoy helping others, especially in regards to finding a healthier lifestyle, my hope is that Nourished Meadow can be a place where I can make that happen.
Right now I am vlogging every day (video blogging), my newest endeavor, and having a blast showing what it is like to be paleo on a day to day basis (or a version that works well for me). You will also find recipes, fitness comments, and probably photos and videos as I travel, hike, and camp.
Please contact me at emeadow411 at gmail.com if you have any questions or comments.

Hi! I was wondering, do you have a public Flickr account where I can see more of your photographs? They’re really beautiful (and I’m not usually into that kind of thing).
Yup, here is a link http://www.flickr.com/photos/emeadow/
Will be lots of cats there as well, I use it for another blog as well.
Hi Erin!
I stumbled onto your site from MDA. If you have special grocery budget tips, please share as I am learning to cook Paleo style for my family of five (and so far it is not cheap!) Feel free to direct me to posts about this if you have them on your site, or you can come by mine and share: http://www.TheCrunchyPickle.com
Thanks! Good luck on your paleo journey!
Thanks for stopping by!!! I used your question and chatted about budget tips on yesterday’s vlog here http://nourishedmeadow.com/2011/05/8-paleo-on-a-budget-tips/. Thank you for the inspiration!
I love your youtufbe videos. Will you please post the recipe to your 2 egg coconut bread on your website, I know you have the ingredients in one of your videos but it is kind of hard to catch all of them. I can’t wait to try it.
Kim
I went to my archives to send you a link and realized I hadn’t put it up anywhere! So I created a post, here you go http://nourishedmeadow.com/2011/07/quick-coconut-bread/
The pictures are beautiful. What part of Colorado do you live?
We live just south of Denver. The pics from my twitter feed on the right currently are just outside of Telluride. Most of the mtn pics on the site are somewhere in the central mountains of the state, just depends on where we are hiking or hunting at the time.
